On the 2nd July 2014, we were delighted to hear that our Chairman, Councillor Brian Rigby MBE, had been nominated as one of the 40 Faces of Trafford. The award was a celebration of those individuals who have been influential, inspirational or pioneering contributing to Trafford through business, education, health, sport, culture or community activity over the past 40 years. Residents were asked to nominate 40 unsung heroes they believed had made a contribution to the borough. A judging panel from Trafford Partnership narrowed all the nominees down to a final 40 which included volunteers, campaigners and fundraisers.

Councillor Rigby was nominated for his pioneering commitment to education in Trafford. As Chairman of the Dean Trust, he has spearheaded many changes and enhanced its reputation. He has also helped other schools to improve their Ofsted ratings and given many young people in Trafford the benefit of an excellent education.

A Garden Party took place at Trafford Town Hall on the 10th September for the 40 Faces and their nominators.

Mrs Vicky Beer, Executive Principal, Ashton on Mersey School, the lead school within the Dean Trust and Head boy Temitayo and Head girl Caitlin attended the event to accept the award on behalf of Councillor Rigby.
