29th May 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

We hope this communication finds you and your families well.

Many of you will have received notification from our schools informing you of our intention to open for more pupils from specific year groups. We have also provided you with actions we are taking to make our schools as safe as possible and a link to an online form which we have asked you to complete. The form asks you about whether you intend for your child to return to school at this time. It is important for our planning that you complete this form as soon as possible. Once we have finalised our opening arrangements, we will share these with you and provide you with one week’s notice of when your child will be expected to attend.

Our priority now is to ensure that our sites, systems and staff are prepared for a safe reopening of our schools.

Our target dates for opening are as follows:

The week beginning 8th June – phased so that Year 6 pupils are welcomed back first followed by Year 1 and Reception.

From the week beginning 15th June, we will be contacting Year 10 pupils, who have indicated that they will be returning to school, to invite them in for specific sessions.

As you are aware, we have remained open throughout for the children of key workers and vulnerable children, even during Bank Holidays. Our vulnerable and key worker children must remain our priority when we are looking at logistics for increasing the opening of our schools.
Please note that all of this is subject to government guidance and ongoing risk assessments. Notwithstanding any possible changes to our plans, we are looking forward to working again with your children.

Thank you for being so patient during this challenging and unpredictable time and also for supporting your child with their own education at home. Many of our teachers are doing the same with their own children and I am sure that they are also finding that to be a challenge at times.

As always, I wish you all a good weekend and I that hope that you can enjoy some sunshine whilst remaining safe.

You will begin to receive more communications directly from your headteacher in the coming days and also please visit our schools’ websites for updates.

Many thanks and best wishes,

Tarun Kapur CBE
